We are sorry to hear about the passing of Suratman Markasan, a Malay literary giant whom we had the privilege of interviewing regarding his memories of growing up in Singapore. A prolific author and teacher, he vividly captured the history, and social memory of the Malay community in his work. We are thankful for the stories that he has generously shared in our series "Let Me Tell You A Story." Our sincere condolences to his family.
