The world marked last Sunday. Coincidentally, the Black Dot Research team also organized the second Asian Fact-Checkers Network Conference this week, with the strong support of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Wee Kim Wee School Of Communication & Information and Prof Dr Edson Tandoc and his team. We were joined by from around the region, including countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and experts, journalist and academics from the UAE and of course Singapore. Over the two days, we heard deep and innovative insights during our panel discussions and presentations on and new initiatives to combat and other fast-evolving threats in this climate of and around the world. Most importantly, we renewed our conviction to continue what we believe is important and critical work to help keep our countries, societies, government and citizens safe amid these growing dangers. Looking forward to our next meetings and developing some of the ideas and initiatives that were discussed here in Singapore. We are grateful to all partners and stakeholders who attended and are passionate about joining in our mission!

Nicholas has more than 15 years of experience in the media industry. He was a senior correspondent at the Straits Times for nine years, and later moved to Channel NewsAsia at Mediacorp as Business Desk Editor and presenter. He was also Deputy Chief Editor of Singapore news at Mediacorp.
Nicholas Fang is currently the Director for Security and Global Affairs in the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, a non-profit and independent think tank.
