We need to take control...the words "self governing " are shallow....it's time to stop playing the puppet to the UK Gov. Punch and Judy Show. Ridiculous over kill in Ruperts container and customs set up, the flogging of the tourism dead horse...it's a joke. The people of Saint Helena and the basic infrastructure has been brushed aside for a self sustainable fantasy.....a new vision, a fresh policy which focuses on reducing the cost of living, and making daily life more bearable for the less privileged.
Has SHG gone so far down the proverbial rabbit hole they don't know how to get out.
I believe a new government with THE SAME VISION, a vision which redefines the island's charm, and the real needs of its people can restore a new hope for all.
Will we be running costly diesel generators for ever? When is the right time to initiate a new sustainable energy source. NOW.
When is the right time to fix the basic infrastructure? NOW.
When is the right time to upgrade or build a better facility for our elderly and vulnerable? NOW.
The absolute basics for a sustainable life are being neglected, if change doesn't come soon, I fear it will become beyond repair. You will never build a future on a broken foundation.
