Sunday morning visitor: Flex Volunteer a LNG Tanker, SAMS heard that a sick crew member has disembarked the vessel, although this is not confirmed. If this correct we wish the crew member a speedy recovery.

The Royal Saint Helena Police Service [RSHP] confirms that a serving police officer, namely PC Josh De Ville has been arrested by detectives yesterday and formally charged with one count of Perjury in relation to an ongoing investigation.

Due legal process is being followed, and the officer has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of judicial proceedings. He has been bailed and will be appearing in court on Thursday 18th of September 2025.

Temporary Chief of Police Richard Ullger said, โ€™we recognise the seriousness of this matter and understand the concerns it may raise within the community.

The decision to take this action reflects our unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and public trust within RSHP.'

Transparency is one of our core values in the Royal Saint Helena Police Service. We remain fully committed to ensuring that no individual is above the law, including members of our own organisation.

As this case is now before the courts, we will not be making further comment at this time.

In an incredible turn of events, ๐Œ๐š๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง ๐“๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง has been elected as the new Speaker of the House for Legislative Council at the second sitting of the first Formal Meeting of LegCo on Thursday in the Council Chamber, with ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ž ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ง being elected to serve as Deputy Speaker.
