sentimentalfilm the film and media production sentimentalfilm was founded in 2004 by Marek Urban and Ivan Ostrochovsky, fresh graduates from film school in Bratislava.

Their intention was to continue their successful co-operation from student’s time, in order to develop their own projects as well as to settle a platform for young and outstanding authors. One of the first projects was “Matchmaking mayor” (“Tagesspiegel Readers Prize” at Berlinale 2011), and “Ilja” both awarded domestically and abroad. Nowadays the sentimentalfilm is producing several documentaries and TV programmes and at least one feature a year. We also do provide production services for local as well as foreign productions.
