'Maid of Orleans (The Waltz Joan of Arc)' was released on this day in January 1982. OMD's third single from their album 'Architecture & Morality', it followed on from previous single 'Joan Of Arc'. Both songs had been inspired by the French saint.

'Maid Of Orleans' reached No. 4 in the UK charts. It also charted at No. 1 across several European countries, including Germany, where it was the biggest-selling single of 1982.
