This is Charla Nash in 2016… exactly 7 years after the day that changed her life forever 🦍💔
February 16, 2009. Travis, her friend’s 200-pound pet chimpanzee, snapped without warning. In just minutes, he took almost everything from her:
✋ 9 fingers
👁️ both eyes and her sight forever
👃👄 her nose, lips, and the entire mid-face bone structure

Doctors even had to surgically remove chimp teeth and hair embedded deep in her bones 😔 They told her family she wouldn’t survive the night.
But Charla did more than survive.
She flew to Ohio for one of the world’s first full face transplants. She learned to “see” the world again—this time with her heart 👩‍🦯✨

Seven years later, she smiled for this photo.
A real, radiant smile.
A smile that quietly says: “I’m still here… and I choose joy.”

When 31-year-old Sarah Whitney was told she faced a serious health battle while pregnant, her world shifted — but her priority stayed the same: protecting the little life growing inside her. After major treatment and surgery, she carried her son, Kal-El, all the way to a safe, healthy birth.

For 6-year-old Kylian, the pediatric ward was a scary place, especially at night. The beeping machines, the dim lights… everything reminded him of discomfort and worry. He hadn’t slept properly in days. 😣
His mom, drained from countless sleepless nights, dozed on the small cot in the corner. Nurse Jenna had just finished a long 12-hour shift when she walked in for her final check. She saw Kylian’s wide, anxious eyes.
“What’s wrong, buddy?” she whispered.
“I’m scared… please don’t go,” he murmured.

Four months ago, I heard words that took the air out of my lungs. The illness had reached my abdomen, my lymph nodes, even my bones. It felt like my future had been sealed shut, and all I could think was: How long do I really have? 💔

The treatment plan stretched ahead of me like a mountain I wasn’t sure I could climb. Every day felt endless. Every hour felt heavy.

But then something unexpected happened — my body began to fight back.
Slowly at first… then stronger.
Each scan showed more progress. Each appointment carried a little more light than the last.

And yesterday, I heard the sentence I’d been terrified to dream about:
“No evidence of disease.” 🌟

I walked into my daughter’s room, saw the signs she had colored with so much love, and I broke down — not from fear this time, but from the kind of relief that shakes you to your core.
The kind that feels like the weight of the world finally slipping off your shoulders. 🫶

I still have treatments ahead. I still have follow-ups. But today… today I get to hold those signs and say something I once thought I would never be able to say:
“I’m still here.”
Four months. That’s all it took for my world to change… in a way I never thought possible. 💛✨

Theo’s numbers this morning confirmed what his mom had quietly feared — his CO₂ levels were rising again. 😔 But this time, her heart didn’t break the way it used to. She stayed steady. 💪✨
They raised his ventilator support back to where it was before surgery, yet something was different…
Theo wasn’t struggling. He was awake, breathing with the vent instead of fighting against it. 🌟
Yesterday had been so hard. His tiny airway weakened, and every breath felt like a mountain he had to climb. The doctors explained gently: his airway was soft, collapsing just above his lungs. 😢 Because he’s still so small, they couldn’t use a custom device to help — so they increased the pressure to keep those precious breaths going. 🌬️
Even with the extra support, she saw how hard he worked. Every rise of his little chest felt like a victory — and a reminder of how brave he truly is. 😓
She leaned close, brushed her hand over his cheek, and whispered,

Our 14-year-old son, Wojtek, who was once full of energy and laughter, suddenly experienced facial paralysis. After months of uncertainty, tests, and surgeries, the difficult news arrived — Wojtek has a rare and aggressive condition affecting his head. 💫 The fight for his life began. 💪
Wojtek has faced rounds of treatment, surgeries, and countless medical procedures over the past few months. His body, once vibrant, is now tired, and he’s developed side effects like anemia and weakness. Yet through it all, Wojtek remains strong and hopeful — still dreaming of returning to help others as a Caritas volunteer and to continue his love for Scouting. 🌿✨
His best chance of recovery lies in a specialized clinic in Germany 🇩🇪, where a complete treatment plan can give him real hope for healing. However, the cost of care, travel, and continued support is far beyond our family’s means. 💔

💔 When Every Breath Matters
Yesterday, I held her the way I always do — warm, peaceful, safe against my chest. Then in a single heartbeat, everything shifted. Her tiny body went soft, her eyes faded, and the world around us froze. The only thing I could hear was my own heart falling apart. 😢

On the outside, we stayed steady — checking her pulse, calling her name, holding her close — but inside, we were breaking. Whispering prayers. Begging for one more moment, one more breath.

People often say, “It’s just a small procedure.” But when your child’s medical journey has been long and full of fragile moments, nothing feels small. Every appointment, every sound, every breath feels like walking a line between hope and fear.

October 2023 reminded us again how delicate life can be. The fear doesn’t disappear — it simply hides behind the smile of a new morning.

Today, she’s back home. Laughing. Playing. Breathing. 🌈
And for now… that’s everything. 🙏💖
