Our artist Q&A series continues, this time featuring .felber

Oskar Felber’s new paintings focus on fictional portraits, heads and characters whose identities float or sink across the canvas, partially veiled by brushwork and geometric forms.

Last month VUNU showcased a selection of these recent works in NEVER ENOUGH, highlighting Felber’s intuitive, performative process and layering of oil and acrylic.

Felber’s practice continues to probe the anxiety and thrill of image-making itself, blurring boundaries between abstraction, figuration and storytelling.

Diego Marcon’s / .marcon / exhibition La Gola confronted the viewer with two extreme poles of human existence—sensory pleasure and physical decline. The Italian artist, known for his experiments with film as a medium, createed a world where grotesque, melancholy, and the aesthetics of puppet animation meet the choreography of death and indulgence.

Hans Haacke’s Retrospective at

Hans Haacke (b. 1936) is a legend of political conceptual art—and his work remains strikingly relevant in today’s world. As a founding figure of artistic institutional critique, Haacke redefined the relationship between art and society and profoundly influenced generations of artists.

Beginning in the 1960s, Haacke first explored biological, physical, and ecological before shifting his focus to socio-political structures. His work unflinchingly addresses abuses of power, mechanisms of exclusion and inequality, historico-political disruptions; the entanglements of public institutions, politics, and economics, while also confronting anti-democratic tendencies.
