*SIERRA LEONES' INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE SCHOOLS POLICE IN BO*
Sierra Leones' Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu has in a well attended ceremony on Saturday 17th September 2022, Schooled members of the Sierra Leone Police at the Regional Police Headquarters in Bo.
The Inspector General of Police and entourage were received in an overwhelming atmosphere with a parade in demonstration of their loyalty, diligence and commitment to the profession known as a "FORCE FOR GOOD".
Welcoming his first official function after taken the OATH OF OFFICE, the Regional Commissioner South of the Sierra Leone Police, Madam Hillary Sao Kanu underscored the primary mandates of the Sierra Leone Police. Commissioner Hillary Sao Kanu instructed police officers present from all divisions in the southern region to stand-at - ease for the IGP's statement.
Schooling police officers, IGP William Fayia Sellu entreated them to go the extra mile and empower themselves in order to protect their futures and the nation.
He informed, the police is committed to protecting life and property which is why he decided to pay the unceremonious visit as a means to building their confident with the critical lens on their plights which among others include; logistical challenges, backlog of police rice and plans to police the June 24 - 2023 multitier elections in the country.
As part of my policing strategies, I have commissioned a vehicle to minimize problems associated with logistics to aid policing operations in the region with special reference to Bo city and its environs. I have also concluded modalities and police will start receiving their withheld rice package effective Monday 19th September 2022, IGP William Fayia Sellu disclosed.
IGP William Fayia Sellu urged police officers to tighten their belts or brace up noting, the nation has started her journey that is constitutionally mandated to protect the potency of the elections. He said, since he took up office, he had gone the extra mile to engage international partners to support in the policing of the 2022 elections in Sierra Leone.
