The UN General Assembly has voted 164โ€“1 to adopt the "Equal Earth" cartographic projection, replacing the 1569 Mercator map to present a more accurate representation of continental landmasses.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation says it has opened an internal investigation into a case of alleged misuse of official Ministry documentation in a visa application to a diplomatic mission.

In a statement on Saturday, MFAIC said it takes the allegations seriously and that the investigation underway will โ€œreview relevant documents and procedures, determine the facts and reports its findings and recommendations.โ€

It assured that if any unauthorised use or breach of procedures is confirmed, it will be dealt with through appropriate administrative or legal action.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ APC SILENCE ON FATIMA BIOโ€™S UN ACHIEVEMENT? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ”ฅ

Since yesterday, Sierra Leoneโ€™s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio, has been receiving recognition and appreciation from people and organisations around the world following the adoption at the United Nations of a resolution proposing an International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐ŸŒ

But one thing has caught my attention. ๐Ÿ‘€

Where are the APC politicians?

Iโ€™ve seen prominent voices from different parts of the world acknowledging and congratulating the First Lady for an initiative that puts Sierra Leone on the global stage.

Yet, from our own political class, especially some APC politicians, the silence has been noticeable. ๐Ÿค

And it raises a simple question:

Must everything become politics before we can celebrate Sierra Leone? ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

You can disagree with the SLPP.
You can oppose President Bio.
You can even disagree with Fatima Bio politically.

But when something potentially benefits Sierra Leone and advances the fight against child and forced marriage globally, shouldnโ€™t we be able to say, โ€œWell doneโ€? ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

Because, as we say in Salone:

๐Ÿ”ฅ โ€œIf nar bad news, you for don see am all sai!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Politics should have boundaries. National achievements should belong to Sierra Leone, not just one political party.

So APC supporters and politicians, we are asking respectfully:

Is this not worth congratulating? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

The reported restriction comes amid growing regional security concerns, border tensions, and recent arrests reportedly linked to transnational crime and drug trafficking.

If confirmed, this is a serious diplomatic and regional concern that demands urgent clarification from the Sierra Leonean government.

โ€œSadly, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi does not understand that a collection of voices can be used to pass a Constitutional Amendment, as long as more than two-thirds are in the Well of Parliament and no Division is called when the Question is put.
That is exactly how the votes were conducted after the Second Reading in Parliament earlier this very month.
