Why do we judge other people by their actions, but judge ourselves by our intentions? In Sierra Leone, it is easy to say, *“Na e do am!”* when someone makes a mistake, but when we make the same mistake, we are quick to explain, *“But that wasn’t what I meant.” We often demand accountability from others while making excuses for ourselves. The truth is, our intentions may explain our actions, but our actions still affect people. Before we judge someone’s story, let us examine our own. Before we point fingers, let us ask:“If someone did this to me, how would I feel? Let’s build a Sierra Leone where we choose understanding over quick judgment, accountability over excuses, and grace over condemnation. Because sometimes, the difference between “their mistake” and “my mistake” is simply the story we tell ourselves.
