*Minister James-Teima Unveils National Stadium Renovation Plans with China*

In a significant development for sports infrastructure, Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, announced that the Government of Sierra Leone has secured an agreement with the People's Republic of China to install seating in the rehabilitated National Stadium.

Speaking during the Government Weekly Press Briefing at the Foreign Affairs Conference Room on Tower Hill, Freetown, she emphasized that this addition, while not part of the original renovation plan, is crucial for ensuring the stadium meets international standards.

Minister Teima projected that the stadium would be fully operational within a year, highlighting the pivotal role of President Julius Maada Bio in facilitating this progress. She expressed optimism about the future of sports in Sierra Leone, noting that the government is committed to enhancing sports infrastructure nationwide.

Madam Minister underscored the importance of modern facilities for sports, stating, "Football and other sports can no longer be played on bare ground." To this end, the government has initiated upgrades to sports arenas across the country.

Four artificial turfs have already been installed in Freetown, Bo, and Portloko, with plans for additional installations in other districts to promote athletic development.

President Bio Shows Gratitude to Vice President Dr. Jalloh

Sierra Leone's President His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio whilst in the US and on several occasions out of the country demonstrated humility towards his Vice President Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh for Winning $480 Million Millenium Challenge Cooperation (MCC) Compact Fund.

In his celebratory speech after the country win in recent years, President Julius Maada Bio praised his Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, for his pivotal role in securing the grant, noting he personally urged Vice President Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh to pursue the MCC funds with determination. “Despite the challenges, I encouraged him to do everything within his power to ensure that Sierra Leone secured this vital funding,” the President stated, adding that VP Jalloh’s successful negotiation of that huge support from the United States Government demonstrate his capability and commitment towards Sierra Leone’s development.

According to the head of state, the agreement was a key step towards fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for Sierra Leoneans. While addressing a cross section of Sierra Leoneans in New York City, he informed them of how closely he is working with his VP and that every task he gives him he has is delivering to the best of his ability.

Such gestures towards Vice President Jalloh are a pointer to humility of the president towards his Vice President thus reminds us of famous hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, who said that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.”
