The Kingdom of Kubala has taken social media by storm after declaring ownership of a woodland area in Scotland.

Led by King Atehene and Queen Nandi, the group claims to have both African and Scottish ancestral roots. They say their ancestors were black Jacobites who were displaced hundreds of years ago, and that the land they now occupy rightfully belongs to them.

Despite multiple eviction orders from Scottish courts, the Kingdom of Kubala has refused to leave. They argue that their authority comes from divine power, not government or legal systems.

Their defiance has sparked mixed reactions. Some people see it as a bold act of reclaiming heritage. Others see it as illegal land occupation.

Liberian superstar Cralorboi CIC has thrown down a bold challenge to JZyNo, saying if he truly believes he is the 001, then they should go hit for hit. CIC even put $25,000 on the line, promising the prize to the winner of the face-off.

He also stressed that no Liberian artist has a stronger discography than his.

But here’s the reality check.
In music today, one global hit is worth more than 10 local ones. While CIC’s catalogue is strong locally, JZyNo has achieved what most artists dream of, global reach. His music has crossed borders, tapped into international playlists, and positioned him as Liberia’s most exportable act right now.

This is a smart move. It builds a deeper connection with fans and shows real humility.

To upcoming Salone artists, learn from this. If a star like Iyanya can promote his work on the streets, why not you? Established ones act too β€œbig” to touch the streets. That’s why most of you stay stuck in the same cycle hype online, no real connection offline.

Music is not about ego. It’s about reaching people. If the streets don’t feel you, your streams won’t last.
