**Parliament Passes Constitutional Amendment Bill, Introduces PR, 50% 1 and 20% Threshold for Presidential election.*

Parliament has enacted the Constitutional Amendment Bill into law, introducing provisions that will see the country conduct the next election under the Proportional Representation system, with a 50% 1 threshold and a requirement to secure at least 20% of the votes in 11 voting districts to win the presidency.
The opposition had earlier walked out of Parliament before the bill was passed.

According to the speaker The bill is subject to interpretation by the Supreme Court within the next three months of its passage.
