Sierra Leone Rebel Leader Foday Sankoh Wanted To Outsmart Nigeria President Obasanjo When They Met At The Lome Peace Accord In 1999

No sooner Sankoh entered the the hotel room, he attempted to establish familiarity with president Obasanjo by stating that he had known Obasanjo from their days in Port Harcourt, Nigeria while he was a colonel in the Nigeria army.

He responded that, Foday Sankoh could not have known or met him in Port Harcourt, because of his military rank then, could not have had any dealings with corporals or private soldiers.

The implication here was clear, that Foday Sankoh was a liar and that he was only attempting to boost his own ego by stating that he had known President Obasanjo for such a long time
