We always hear about Mandela, but what about the other giants who gave their lives for Africa’s freedom?
Patrice Lumumba (Congo 🇨🇩) – Congo’s first Prime Minister, who fought for true independence but was assassinated in 1961.
Thomas Sankara (Burkina Faso 🇧🇫) – “The African Che Guevara.” He rejected foreign aid, promoted self-reliance, and was assassinated in 1987.
Dedan Kimathi (Kenya 🇰🇪) – The Mau Mau leader who led the armed struggle against British colonial rule. Executed in 1957.
Smílcar Cabral (Guinea-Bissau & Cape Verde 🇬🇼 🇨🇻) – Revolutionary thinker and guerrilla leader who led the fight against Portuguese rule.
