🔥 Fire Outbreak at Dama Road, Kenema — Lives Rescued, Properties Destroyed
Kenema, July 27, 2025 — A devastating fire broke out today at Dama Road, directly opposite Access Bank in Kenema, resulting in significant property damage. The fire, which erupted in the early hours of the morning, is believed to have been caused by an improper electrical connection involving the EDSA power supply.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with thick smoke and flames engulfing several nearby structures. Thanks to the swift response of the Sierra Leone Fire Force, many lives were saved, and the blaze was brought under control before it could spread further.
"We received the alert in time and immediately deployed our team," said a spokesperson for the Fire Force. "Despite the intensity of the flames, we were able to evacuate residents and prevent further casualties."
While no fatalities have been confirmed, several residents sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene. Emergency services continue to assess the extent of the damage, but preliminary reports indicate that multiple homes and businesses have been severely affected.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and ensure proper electrical installations, especially in high-density areas. An investigation is currently underway to confirm the exact cause of the fire.
