As citizens, are we going to keep ignoring the Kush pandemic, just like the government is doing, while this deadly drug destroys the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters? We all know that most of the importers are deeply connected to high profile authorities.

They hide behind car dealerships, entertainment labels, clothing shops, and other businesses to wash their drug money. Yet this is Sierra Leone a nation without a functioning financial crime agency to hold them accountable.

Imagine if these were your own family members or daughters. This is the painful reality Sierra Leone is turning into because of Kush. This drug is destroying countless potentials, while heartless political parties only focus on fighting for power ahead of 2028. Every single day, young souls are being lost to this deadly drug. Or is this what the politicians want — a Sierra Leone without a strong youth voice?

Some people try to blame the victims, but let’s be clear: the government carries the ultimate responsibility to protect this nation. It is their duty to control what enters our borders and to safeguard citizens from harmful substances. Remember when Coco Samba was declared harmful? The government acted quickly to stop it. So why is it so hard for them to stop Kush?

To those importing this poison into Sierra Leone — God will surely punish you and your generations. How do you feel driving your blood-money luxury cars, knowing the destruction you brought into this country?

And to bloggers with big platforms, to the radio and TV stations with influence — why are you silent? What if these victims were your family members? Sierra Leone is facing a deadly epidemic, but our leaders continue to turn a blind eye. Every single day, dead bodies are being picked off our streets — Kush is killing at least six young people daily.

We all remember when Koko Samba was declared harmful, and within days it disappeared completely. So why is nothing being done about Kush? Instead of saving lives, our politicians are busy fighting for 2028, while parliamentarians care only about themselves and not the people.

How many more lives must be lost before they act? Sad country 💔.
