NEW MEMBERSHIP DRIVE, VERIFICATION AND REGULARIZATION OF ALL ELDERS OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL 25th JULY 2025

Notice is hereby given to all Elders and non Elders of the National Advisory Council of Sierra Leone DJs Union that after its meeting held on the 24th of July 2025 will embark on its constitutional mandate to conduct new Registration, Verification and Regularization of its members nationwide. This drive is to establish a proper and enhanced database of all council Elders.

Consequently, all Elders and Non Elders are expected to follow the due process as stated by the NAC SLeDU below:

1. All registered Elders of NAC shall be verified and must regularize their statuses by paying the union and council 2025 dues in the sum of Six Hundred Leones (NLe 240 for SLeDU and 360 for NAC) into the NAC account stated below.
2. New Elders who may want to be admitted to the National Advisory Council shall be a full member of SLeDU and must have regularized their statuses in SLeDU. Additionally, he/she shall pay a non refundable registration/application fee of One Hundred Leones plus Three Hundred and Sixty Leones for the 2025 NAC dues (Totaling to NLe 460), into the below mentioned bank account.

4. After dues payment and registration/application fee at the bank, a copy of the receipt must be presented to NAC during the verification and registration process for ease of reference and to receive an official receipt from the Council for record purposes.
5. To be admitted to NAC, a member shall fulfil the criteria set out in the constitution of SLeDU 2020.

Take notice that ONLY Elders who are registered, verified and regularized by NAC will be allowed to participate in the activities and future elections of NAC. Furthermore, the process of verification, regularization and admission of new Elders to the Council by the NAC Secretariat will commence on Monday 28th July 2025 and ends on August 31st 2025.

For any enquiries and information on the operations of the NAC Secretariat don't hesitate to contact the Secretary General. Regional Elders should contact their respective NAC Chairmen for the verification and Regularization of their statuses and the registration of new Elders.

NAC Engages Prezo Koroma-Led Interim Executive.

The National Advisory Council (NAC) held a meeting with the newly appointed interim executives of the Sierra Leone DJs Union (SLEDU). The meeting was held on the 12th of July at Siaka Stevens Street.
The majority of NAC members and a cross-section of the interim executives attended the meeting. It was chaired by NAC Secretary General, DJ Real.who congratulated the newly appointed executive and called on them to work as a team for the development of the union.

During his opening remarks, Elder Sankara, Chairman of NAC, explained the reason and process behind appointing the Prezo Koroma-led executive. "It came as a surprise to me when Prezo Koroma's name appeared on two different lists, and the majority of NAC members approved him based on his track record and demeanor." He congratulated the new executives and urged them to make a positive impact, revealing that NAC has a project to hand over to the union.

Elder Desperate Rechie, representing the NAC Board of Directors, emphasized that SLEDU belongs to its general membership, not just a few individuals. "Let's focus on developing the union rather than using disrespectful language towards each other. SLEDU is open to everyone; it's just that during registration, some individuals took up responsibility." He handed over a brand-new laptop and printer to the interim executive.

Prezo Koroma, the newly appointed president, expressed gratitude to NAC and outlined his vision for SLEDU, focusing on unity and growth. "My aim is to bring unity again to SLEDU and make it enviable for all DJs." He called on his Vice President, Samboy, to prioritize the union's interests.

Samboy thanked NAC for the appointment and pledged to work with Prezo Koroma to drive SLEDU's progress. The meeting marked a significant step towards SLEDU's future growth and development.

The general public and the Sierra Leone DJs community, in particular, are hereby informed that, according to the Constitution of SLeDU 2020 and consistent with the provisions of the M&A and the Company Act of 2009, the Board of Directors acting on behalf of the National Advisory Council of the Sierra Leone DJs’ Union convened an important meeting on the 6th of July 2025 in Freetown to establish and constitute an Interim Executive Committee before convening the TGM/Elective Congress that will be conducted by the Independent Elections Committee.
