Subject: APPROVAL OF SLeDU EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The National Advisory Council (NAC) Announces Approval of New Executive Members of the Sierra Leone DJ's Union (SLeDU)
On the 6th of December 2024, the Council was pleased to announce the approval of new executive members of SLeDU to its leadership team following a recent NAC meeting. This decision is pivotal in reinforceing our commitment in advocating for the rights and interests of DJs across the industry.
The newly appointed executive members include:
(1) President -DJ Jesse
(2) Vice President -Prezo Koroma
(3) Secretary-General -Jida Kizz
(4) Publicity Secretary -Dj PYC
(5) Welfare Officer -Dj Tormentor
(6) Disciplinary Offer -Dj Dinga Man
(7) Personal Assistant (PA) to President Jesse -Dj Desperate
(8) Special Adviser 1 -Elder Chairman Desperate Richie
(9) Special Adviser 2 -Elder Jose
(10) Eastern Regional Chairman -Dj Janneh
each bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for music and community-building.
Their diversed backgrounds encompassed various aspects of the DJ industry, including event management, artist representation, and music production. Together, they will work tirelessly to enhance support for our members and address key issues affecting DJs today.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Elder Sankara says βtheir expertise and dedication will be important as we strive to create a vibrant and equitable music community. With their leadership, we aim to amplify the voices of official DJ's, promote fair practices, and foster collaboration within the industry.β
The new executive members will assume their roles immediately and focus on strategic initiatives, including advocacy for performers' rights, educational programs, and community engagement efforts.
In his statement, the President of the Sierra Leone DJ's Union, (President Jesse) reassured the Union that himself and his Executive Committee would transform the Union and add value to the Union through growth and development.
Other appointments will be announced in due course.
The National Advisory Council (NAC), unanimously agreed to extend the term of office of President DJ Jesse for one year, effective 6th December 2024 to 6th December 2025.
