More than 260,000 people have now been displaced in Gaza, the United Nations said today, in the midst of a retaliatory airstrike campaign by Israel.

That figure represents about 10% of Gaza's estimated population of 2 million.

"This number is expected to rise further," the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in its daily update.

At least 1,087 people in Gaza have been killed and 5,000 injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry and the West Bank Health Ministry.

At least 1,200 Israelis — including more than 150 soldiers — have been killed and more than 2,700 injured, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

THIS IS A NOTIFICATION LETTER SENT TO APC FROM PEACE COMMISSION, ON THE ARRIVAL OF THE MEDIATION TEAM, WHICH INCLUDE: COMMON WEALTH, AFRICAN UNION AND ECOWAS FOR THE PROPOSED DIALOGUE.
It is expected that the team will arrive in Freetown tomorrow 8th October. However, the team will hold consultation with the two parties (APC and the Government of Sierra Leone) separately on 13th and 14th, and 15th will be considered a resting day. The mediation DIALOGUE will take place at BALLROOM OF BINTUMANI HOTEL, on 16-18 at 9:00 am everyday.
