The decision was driven by the ongoing issues surrounding CS Sfaxienโ€™s financial obligations and subsequent sanctions. The club was banned by FIFA from registering new players due to unpaid dues owed to former players, including those from Maccabi Haifa.

This ban resulted from the clubโ€™s failure to comply with rulings from FIFAโ€™s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which ordered the payment of outstanding debts. The ban will be lifted once the club settles these debts.
