Following a 0-0 deadlock for over 75 minutes, Cincinnati scored the winning goal through striker Kévin Denkey in the 78th minute.

The Leone Stars took a light team walk this morning in Monrovia as part of their final preparations ahead of today’s important World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.

The walk helped the players stay relaxed and focused, reinforcing team spirit and mental readiness ahead of the must-win showdown at SKD Stadium later this afternoon.

Burkina Faso are in second with 15 points, three ahead of the Leone Stars.

So what needs to happen?

Step one - beat Burkina Faso

This Wednesday, it's all or nothing in Monrovia. Sierra Leone must beat Burkina Faso.

That win would put both teams level on 15 points, but then goal difference comes into play. The Burkinabes have the edge, so Sierra Leone will need to score and score well.

Step two finish the job against Djibouti

Djibouti are the minnows in the group, but this is football, no freebies. The Leone Stars have to show up, dominate, and walk away with all 3 points. That would push them to 18 points.

Step three pray the Ethiopians hold their nerve

Burkina Faso's last game? Against Ethiopia. For Sierra Leone to sn**ch second, the Stallions must drop points; either a draw or a loss. That's the final piece of the puzzle.

Playoffs are in reach!

Only the four best second-placed teams across all groups will qualify for the continental playoff.
