LEONE STARS HAVE A NEW COACH!

The wait is over!

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed French tactician Didier Gomes Da Rosa as the new Head Coach of our beloved Leone Stars

This comes weeks after the SLFA dismissed Mohamed Kallon. Coach Kallon did reapply through the official process, but SLFA says it’s time for a new direction.

Who is Coach Da Rosa?
He’s a seasoned coach with experience managing clubs + national teams across Africa and Asia. Now he takes charge as we gear up for upcoming internationals and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Heat resilience begins with data and delivers through action.

Using urban heat mapping, Freetown identified the communities most vulnerable to extreme heat and is applying this evidence to design targeted interventions that protect lives, livelihoods, and public health.

Building on this foundation, the Freetown City Council and Climate Resilience for All (CRA) co-hosted Africa’s first Urban Heat Summit in 2025, bringing together African cities and global experts to accelerate action on one of the continent’s fastest-growing climate threats.

Together with C40 Cities, Freetown is also strengthening heat-health systems through public awareness campaigns, heat response protocols, and the training of 500 healthcare workers across 72 health facilities.

As temperatures rise, cities must adapt. Freetown is demonstrating how local leadership can drive climate resilience and protect vulnerable communities from extreme heat.
