LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!! 🗣️

We all want to grow. We want to succeed, find opportunities, build meaningful careers, make an impact and eventually find our place in the world.

But sometimes, in the process of trying to become “better,” we get lost under the pressure. The pressure to have everything figured out.

The pressure to keep up with others.
The pressure to succeed early.
The pressure of seeing people our age achieving things we are still working towards.
The pressure to turn every opportunity into something bigger.

Today, 10th September 2026 our Founder & Executive Director of LYDIA Network, Miss Lydia Kadie Tucker, also serving as the Youth & Communication Officer at Planned Parenthood Association Sierra Leone (PPASL), joined Rise Radiosl 96.3 FM for a live conversation on an important milestone in the global fight against child, early and forced marriage.

The discussion followed the unanimous adoption by the United Nations General Assembly on 4th September 2026 of Resolution A/80/L.99, establishing 27 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. Her Excellency First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of OAFLAD, championed and tabled this important resolution, which was co-sponsored by dozens of countries.

The conversation highlighted the importance of youth participation, amplifying young people’s voices, and strengthening advocacy for the rights, health, wellbeing, education and future of girls. At LYDIA Network, we believe that young people must be part of the conversations shaping their future not just as participants, but as advocates, storytellers and leaders driving social change.

Child, early and forced marriage continues to rob many girls of their childhood, education, choices and opportunities. Ending it requires sustained advocacy, collective action and meaningful youth leadership.

LYDIA Network at Fortified Conference – Freetown ’26 😊

On Thursday, 3rd September 2026, our Project Manager, Micheal Ronald Tucker, our Acting Secretary General, Ibrahim Koroma, and some of our dedicated volunteers attended the Fortified Conference organized by The Fort Institute - TFI.

The theme was “Formed for This Moment.” The focus was on leadership and personal growth for young people.

We learned a lot about:

1. Building confidence and taking responsibility.

2. Discovering purpose and using our skills to help others.

3. Preparing for the chances and challenges ahead.

This experience connects directly to our work at LYDIA Network; empowering youth, building leaders, and serving our communities.

We’re leaving more motivated and ready to do more with young people. Thank you to The Fort Institute for a great conference. 🙏🏽

GLORY TO JESUS! 🙌🏽

In 2025, our Founder & Executive Director, Lydia K. Lydia Kadie Tucker, made history as the youngest awardee of the 30 Most Influential Women in Western Area Rural District. That moment was more than an award, it was the start of a journey that has brought recognition both nationally and internationally.

Today, we are humbled to announce that she has been nominated again for the 30 Most Influential Women in Western Area Rural District Awards 2026 under the theme “Celebrating Rural Women of Excellence.”

She may not be the youngest this time, but she remains one of the women who has consistently shown up, served, advocated, led, and kept going.

Behind the awards and the smiles are sacrifices, pain, scars, and battles no one sees. For us at LYDIA Network, these recognitions are not the destination. They are reminders to keep serving, keep creating impact, and keep making a difference.

As we step into September, I pray that God goes before each and every one of you. May He strengthen you, protect you, guide your decisions, and bless the work of your hands.

May this month bring you wisdom, favour, open doors, good health, peace, and testimonies. May every battle you face turn into victory, and may every seed you have planted begin to produce results.

September will not break us; it will build us. We shall not die, we shall live to testify. Every battle will end in praise, and every closed door will give way to greater opportunities.

WE ARE PROUD! 😊❤️

Yesterday, 29th August 2026, our Executive Director, Miss Lydia Kadie Tucker, was named among the 100 Most Influential Youth Leaders in West Africa 2026 under Most Influential Change Maker.

But this isn’t just about one person. This is about LYDIA Network - our executives, our volunteers, and everyone who believes in our work.

Thank you to Media Advocacy Network Sierra Leone and African Peace Advocates for this recognition.

And big shoutout to our volunteers who represented us at the award ceremony yesterday. We see you and we appreciate you.
