🚨🇪🇺 BREAKING NEWS | 16 SEPTEMBER 2026

🇪🇺 EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT TO VOTE ON SIERRA LEONE RESOLUTION OVER “BOLLE JOS” CASE

The European Parliament is expected to vote tomorrow, Thursday, 17 September 2026, on a resolution calling for stronger pressure on Sierra Leone over the case of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, widely known as “Bolle Jos.”

🇪🇺 The proposed measures reportedly include calls for the European Commission to consider “every possible sanction”, including possible restrictions affecting Sierra Leonean officials and pressure concerning EU development assistance.

💶 The debate also concerns Sierra Leone’s €352 million EU development funding allocation for 2021–2027.

🇳🇱 Dutch MEP Malik Azmani has been among those pushing for tougher European action over the Leijdekkers case and Sierra Leone’s handling of the matter.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Tomorrow’s European Parliament vote would be a resolution calling for action. It does not automatically mean that EU sanctions or the €352 million funding will be cancelled immediately. Any formal EU restrictive measures would require the appropriate EU decision-making process.

📌 Sierra Leone is now facing increased political pressure in Brussels over the Bolle Jos case.

One of the biggest problems holding Sierra Leone back is when tribal loyalty becomes more important than national interest.

Sometimes, people see something clearly wrong, but instead of condemning it, they defend it simply because the person involved belongs to their tribe, political party, or community.

This mentality must change.

If something is wrong, it is wrong—regardless of who did it. If something is right, we should support it—regardless of who deserves the credit.

We cannot build a strong and prosperous Sierra Leone by defending wrongdoing because of tribal or political loyalty.

Let us put Sierra Leone FIRST. 🇸🇱❤️

Our different tribes should be a source of diversity, not division.
Our political differences should not destroy our national unity.

Sierra Leone belongs to all of us. Let us defend the truth, justice, and the future of our country. 🇸🇱✊
