On Wednesday, 17th December 2025, enumerators from Kenema, Kailahun, and Kono Districts were trained on the first phase of the pilot survey for the geolocation farm mapping exercise in Kenema.

The training was conducted by Jonas Skippar, a representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), focusing on the use of the Open Foris Ground tool for the implementation of the European Forest Institute’s farm mapping pilot exercise.

Speaking in a video interview with Star Radio FM 98.5 correspondent, the Assistant Director for Monitoring and Evaluation and Field Operations at the Produce Monitoring Board, Osman Alpha Kargbo, explained the rationale behind the training.

The Staff End-of-Year Celebration took place last night at the residence of our esteemed Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sidie Fofanah, situated on Massaquoi Street. This occasion was dedicated to recognizing the unwavering commitment of the staff at Star Line Radio 98.5 FM Kenema and Karima TV Channel 36, whose efforts have significantly contributed to the growth and success of our institutions.

The event was notably enhanced by the presence of radio station managers from various locations in Kenema. They delivered heartfelt speeches that underscored the considerable impact of Mr. Fofanah, affectionately known as "Commander Snow." Each address reflected on the inspiration and guidance he has offered throughout their careers, highlighting his role as a mentor and leader.

Friends and family members also joined the celebration, fostering a spirit of unity and joy. The ambience was vibrant and filled with positivity, as attendees enjoyed an evening rich with laughter, camaraderie, and heartfelt connections. The Management of Star Line Radio 98.5FM and Karima TV Channel 36 Kenema is deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of the legendary cultural artist Lansana Sheriff, known as Steady Bongo, who tragically lost his life in a road accident on December 7, 2024.

Mr. Sheriff was an instrumental figure in our country and a dear friend and brother to the entire management team. The bond he shared for many decades with our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sidie Fofanah (alias DJ Snow), our manager, Massah Sellu (alias DJ Massel), and the entire staff will always be cherished. His loss is profound, and we mourn together as a family.

May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.
