Today, I engaged in a fruitful meeting with my friend and Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres. Our discussion centered around the next steps in Africa’s push for UN Security Council reform, Regional Security in the Sahel, and the strides made by Sierra Leone in strengthening its democracy.

I extend my appreciation to the Secretary-General for backing Africa in addressing historical injustice and for his unwavering dedication to fostering peace and stability in the Sahel Region.

FREETOWN CITY MAYOR HAIL IN KENEMA.

The people of kenema district on Monday 12th August 2024 received with open hands the most vibrant female Mayor of Sierra Leone.

Serving her second term as Mayor of freetown City council she went into 2023 election with SLPP Gento Kamara a famous contractor that was given most of the road construction contracts in freetown by the APC led government but later decided to show himself politically for the SLPP party.

At the burial house of one of the council family members, late Mohamed Amadu Sesay, the crowd gave a Rousey clap when the kenema city council mayor Thomas BAIO announced the presence of Ivonne Aki-sawyerr, the freetown City mayor.

The response from the crowd shows a dichotomy between social media politics and politics in reality.
