Around the world, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and poor mental health are causing immense suffering among children and young people.

👉 Over 2.1 billion children and adolescents under the age of 20 years are affected by NCDs or exposed to the relevant risk factors.

👉 One in 7 adolescents aged 10–19 years are living with a mental health condition. Each year an estimated 45,800 adolescents tragically lose their lives to su***de – one of the leading causes of death in this age group.

👉 Beyond the impact on communities and societies, NCDs and mental health conditions present a massive burden to the global economy.

On the comomoration of the day of the african child, I was opportune today to travel from Bo to pujehun on a bike. On my way i met series of check points mounted by school going pupils.
Upon approaching One check point I saw one boy with book and pen, I was so curious to know the reasons why he held the book and pen. I then ask.?
ME: Y u get book and pen with u en dae write?
He answered.
BOY: Ar dae rite de amount of money wae people dae gee so at the end no body nor go cheat en compim.
With so much surprise I asked him where he had learned it from.
BOY: Na so dem police man dem kin do na check point.
I smiled and left with this question.?
IS THIS BOY SAYING THE TRUTH OR HE IS JUST ACTING ON WHAT HE HAVE BEEN SEEING HAPPENING AT THESE PLACAES.
