‼️Fatmata Shaid Kamara Signs Out of University: A Legacy of Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation Educational Empowerment

Four years ago, the foundation took a bold step to invest in the academic futures of young people in Port Loko, and Fatmata's story is a shining example of the impact of that vision. First, we are grateful to everyone who has contributed, and may God bless you abundantly. We are excited to announce that our first beneficiary has reached a significant milestone in her academic journey, completing her final examinations for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance at the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Makeni campus. Signing out of the university marks a moment of celebration not just for her personally but for the Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation, whose relentless commitment to educational empowerment played a critical role in her success. Her journey was far from easy. Like many students in Sierra Leone, Fatmata faced immense challenges, from financial instability to limited access to study resources, yet she remained determined. The Foundation stood beside her at every critical moment, offering support and encouragement. Now, as she prepares to graduate, her success is a powerful testament to what focused educational investment can achieve. She is poised to step into the professional world equipped with the knowledge and skills to make meaningful contributions to her field and her nation.

Congratulations, Alpha, Marie, and Ibrahim, for successfully writing your BECE Examination. Three years ago (2022), they were enrolled at the Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation Grass to Grace Education Program, an initiative empowering less privileged children from disadvantaged backgrounds to access primary and secondary education. Currently, the initiative is providing support to thirteen (13) children with Alpha, Marie, and Ibrahim living under my care and supervision because both of them were taken from different communities in Port Loko District. Thanking all those who have contributed to this drive, especially Village Bicycle Project, Fruitful Healthcare, Berny's Hope Foundation, and ALWAKA Charity Foundation. In Makarie Chiefdom Bombali District- Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation Empowers One Hundred (100) Rural Farmers in Village Savings and Loan Schemes for Sustainable Agriculture.

Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation Sierra Leone, supported by AAD-SL with funds from the European Union through the KaDDRO, has recently concluded a significant training program aimed at empowering rural women farmers in the Bombali District of Sierra Leone The project, titled "Empowering Rural Women Farmers through Village Savings and Loan Schemes for Sustainable Agriculture," has successfully trained and distributed a comprehensive package of Village Savings and Loan Scheme (VSLA) materials to 100 farmers in Makarie Chiefdom. The beneficiaries were carefully selected from four communities: Masongbo, Makarie, Matoko, and Mankeneh Bana, ensuring inclusivity by including individuals with disabilities. A thorough assessment conducted at the start of the project in early February underpinned the selected beneficiaries, demonstrating a commitment to equitable access to resources and opportunities.

Hosted in Masongbo, the training brought together not only the beneficiaries but also key community leaders, including section chiefs and religious figures. This gathering underscored the initiative's holistic approach by fostering community engagement in the process. Participants received comprehensive training focused on financial literacy, allowing them to better understand budgeting, savings, and the operational processes integral to the VSLA model. This educational component is vital, as it equips the women with the skills necessary for managing their finances effectively, thus enhancing their economic empowerment and self-sufficiency. Each participating community was supplied with a complete VSLA toolkit, which included essential items such as boxes, ledger books, membership records, writing instruments, calculators, and other necessary materials....
