The man who assassinated Thomas Sankara was his childhood friend.
His name is Blaise Compaoré, Blaise Compaoré and Thomas Sankara grew up and lived together Blaise Compaoré was raised by Thomas Sankara's Father. They lived like brothers. Blaise Compaoré and Thomas Sankara joined the Burkina Faso army together. When Sankara became president of Burkina Faso, he made Blaise Compaoré his vice-president. Sankara did not know that his childhood friend and his brother would later kill him. Five days before Compaoré assassinated Sankara, the two held an event where they danced and drank together. Sankara was informed by the country's intelligence unit about Compaoré's plans to assassinate him. As someone he grew up with, Sankara dismissed the possibility that his childhood friend and his brother would do anything to him. Sankara was reluctant to go after his friend. He couldn't believe it. On October 15, 1987, Thomas Sankara was assassinated in a coup led by his childhood friend, the man he grew up with, the man he loved, the man he had taken as a brother—Blaise Compaoré. Sankara was shot eleven times in the chest and four times in the head by Compaoré's men. Shortly after the coup, Sankara's father asked Compaoré, "Where is your brother, Thomas?" He couldn't answer. Blaise Compaoré became the president of Burkina Faso shortly after killing Sankara. He reversed many of Sankara's Pan-African policies. He continued his relationship with France and joined the IMF. He currently lives in Ivory Coast. He has never paid for his crimes.

Let re-call this year 2011October, 21st. The lifeless bodies of the former Libyan leader and his son, Moatassem, were displayed in a cold room located in a market in the city of Misrata, drawing throngs of Libyan citizens who came to witness this somber spectacle. The aftermath of the tumultuous events saw thousands flocking to catch a glimpse of the man and his son who had been at the heart of Libya's political landscape for decades. Just two days following the grisly display, an official from the National Transitional Council (CNT) made a public announcement, stating their intention to return the bodies to the deceased's family, ostensibly to offer some semblance of closure. However, despite the passage of fourteen long years, the promise remains unfulfilled as the family continues to grapple with uncertainty, not knowing where their loved ones' remains are ultimately laid to rest, leaving a lingering sense of pain and unresolved grief.

Burkina Faso president Ibrahim Traoré recently visited several local government schools to see firsthand whether students had proper benches and a decent roof over their heads.

He spent more than an hour interacting with the children, stressing the importance of education and sharing why he made it free and compulsory for every child.

At the end of his visit, he pledged to renovate the school and improve the learning environment for the students.

PUBLIC NOTICE ON KOIDU HOLDINGS’ RECENT STATEMENT REGARDING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

SUBJECT: CLARIFICATION AND REQUEST FOR TRANSPARENCY ON KOIDU HOLDINGS’ SCHOLARSHIP CLAIMS

Following the recent statement issued by Koidu Holdings regarding their corporate social responsibility initiatives, the Kono Students Union (KonSU), have carefully reviewed the excerpt concerning students’ welfare and scholarships in Kono District.

Koidu Holdings stated, and I quote:

> "We provided scholarships to hundreds of university students and covered tuition fees for all Kono District students enrolled in technical institutions, including the Kono University of Science & Technology."

As the National President of KonSU, and in line with our obligation to uphold the welfare and rights of Kono Students, I must express concern and seek clarification on this claim. According to our findings and reports from students currently enrolled at the Kono University of Science and Technology, the statement is factually inaccurate. Many students are currently paying their tuition fees independently, with no financial assistance from Koidu Holdings or any related scholarship fund linked to the company.

Therefore, in the spirit of accountability, transparency, and respect for truth, we are formally requesting the following:

1. Koidu Holdings publicly provides verifiable documentation and evidence proving the claim that they “covered tuition fees for all Kono District students enrolled” in the said university.

2. That such documentation be shared not only with the KonSU National Executive but also made accessible to the public in the interest of transparency.

3. That the company reviews the accuracy of its corporate communication to ensure alignment with ground realities and current beneficiaries.

We kindly urge all students and stakeholders to remain peaceful and patient as we pursue this matter through appropriate channels.

The Hadzabe, or Hadza people, are a hunter-gatherer tribe residing in northern Tanzania, specifically in the Serengeti National Park and the Lake Eyasi basin. They are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer societies on Earth and have been living in their ancestral territory for potentially thousands of years. The Hadza are known for their unique culture, including their sustainable way of life, which relies heavily on the environment for sustenance, as well as their strong oral traditions and limited reliance on material possessions.
