This meal is called ‘C’est Bon’ and a group of 4 of us shared this family style.

Very delicious! 😋

It’s a mix of Grilled fish, grilled shrimp, white rice, onions and other veggies. Lucky for us, we got to enjoy our meal by the seaside.

A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! 🌴

I’ve been traveling to Jamaica since I was a young child, so I initially searched for a similar vibe in Africa. My first stop was a Rasta community in Ghana—which was a safe haven for a solo traveler like me.

From there, I ventured further and continuously inched outside of my comfort zone.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who took the reins in a coup two years ago, is truly reshaping Burkina Faso. At the age of 36, his accomplishments are nothing short of inspiring!

The country has proudly unveiled its first batch of self-produced gold after reclaiming control over its mines. Traoré stated, “We know how to mine our gold, so why should we let multinationals take over?”

This move is set to strengthen the country and bring significant economic benefits to the gold sector. Imagine the impact: 100 direct jobs and an impressive 5,000 indirect opportunities, with the refinery churning out about 400 kg of gold every day. 🏆

And that’s not all! Captain Ibrahim Traoré is also nurturing the agricultural sector with the launch of Burkina Faso’s very first tomato processing facility. Plus, he’s mandating that school uniforms be made from traditional, locally crafted fabrics. 🧵🪡🧶

I’m really excited to see what else he has in store for Burkina Faso and would love to see other African nations follow suit!
