Omar abdukadir Artan
The decision by President Trump to refuse Omar Artan, a FIFA referee, entry into the United States and prevent him from participating in the 2026 World Cup is a form of discrimination.
Discrimination means treating people unfairly because of their race, color, s*x, religion, nationality, disability, age, or other characteristics. Many international agreements protect people from discrimination.
1. United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948)
Article 1: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
Article 2: Everyone is entitled to rights and freedoms without discrimination.
Article 7: All are equal before the law and deserve equal protection.
2. United Nations International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (1965)
Prohibits discrimination based on race, color, descent, or national/ethnic origin.
Requires countries to promote equality among all racial groups.
