Displacement meant moving from one shelter to another, never knowing when they would be asked to leave.
“We lived in constant fear of eviction,” Batulo recalls.
Today, that fear is gone.
In Mogadishu, Batulo and Mano are among 400 displaced families now living in secure transitional homes through the Garasballey Housing Project, supported by the European Union.
For the first time, there is safety.
There is stability.
There is a place to stay.
“I hope my children will study here and have a good future,” Mano says.
Because a home is more than shelter.
It is dignity.
It is recovery.
It is hope rebuilt.
