A shocking revelations has emerged within SPLM-IO military Command, suggesting that some are instead working against the movement.

According to credible sources from the field, General Peter Thok Chuol, Chief of Staff for the SPLA-IO, is playing a key role in facilitating unauthorized fuel shipments through the Sobat River corridor to Malakal β€”fuel reportedly intended for fueling Agwelek barges. These boats were detained in Yakuach Payam, Nyirol County for the past five days as local authorities are investigating the cargo and its documentation.

It is further witnesses that General Chuol issued directives authorizing the release of these boats, despite serious security concerns. The boats are reportedly owned by Pal Koryom Gil who resides in Juba and is allegedly linked to figures close to the current regime.

Additional concerns have been raised about Hon. Gatluak Lew Thiep, IO-appointed Commissioner of Nasir County who is allegedly reported to be obstructing the newly appointed Governor, Hon. Keach Nguoth Tiem, from accessing Mandengβ€”a critical administrative center. There are reports that this obstruction was politically motivated and coordinated in partnership with actors seeking to destabilize Eastern Jikany region.

These developments have prompted serious concerns about internal sabotage, coalition with regime elements, and obstruction of the movement’s operational integrity.

The SPLM-IG force (SSPDF) attacked the retreating SPLA-IO VIP Protection forces in Mayom. Details will come later as clashes still ongoing.

It has also come to the attention of this office that this retreating VIP unit has some SSPDF soldiers who are mainly from the Equatoria and Upper Nile region who were being mistreated in Abyie based on their tribal identity.

The SPLA-IO command hereby directs all its forces in Unity State to be on standby to defend themselves and civilians from the regime’s forces.

Hon. James Bol Makuei, the Commissioner of Nyirol county has written a letter dated 9th October 2025 to the Governor of Jonglei expressing a need to bring the two sisterly counties in conflict to a table of dialogue following the persistent attacks that inflicted raiding of cattle, loss of lives and destruction of properties citing these attacks not only threatens the safety of civilians but also the stability of entire Jonglei State.

He added that these incidents if not addressed will deepened mistrust and enmity between the two communities, He therefore urged Mr. Governor to create a platform that will give the two communities with inclusion of their local Leaders and youth leaders a chance to openly voice out their grievances for lasting peace.

He lastly call upon Peace Canal to help in restoration of harmony Between these two communities by facilitating the peace initiative.
