Peace conference aimed at restoring Peaceful co-existence between Nyadoar and Bany sections of Thai Community held at Pultruk Payam concluded.

Wechkuaigok,25th September 2025 β€” a delegation led by Acting Commissioner of Nyirol County Hon. Gatkuoth Kong went to Pultruk Payam earlier this month to bring to end a feud that occurred between nyadoar and Bany sections of Thai Community, among the delegation was the Acting Chairperson of Nyirol Community David Yoal Rial, the Paramount Chief of Nyirol County Deng Reath Bayak, Hon. Koak Lony, a state Mp, Nyirol County SPLM- IO chairperson Peter Biel Nyoat and other military General including Maj. Machiwen Kalang, Maj. L*l G*i and Brig. Gen. Gatkek Tolchiek Et al

This feud began when a person was mistakenly shot during an event as a result of cross fire and it resulted to the death of 3 individuals and others injured.

After days of deliberation during the conference, the two communities were urged to forgive and forget what had happened and instead jointly work toward re-establishing the lost trust as a way to build lasting peace.
The two communities also agreed to do compensation for the losses incurred.

In his statement, the Acting Commissioner described the event as β€œa grassroots solution to our internal differences”.
He further expressed his gratitude to members present for the support and trust they bestowed upon his leadership.

In conclusion, He urged the people of Nyirol County to never heed to political pressures that may destabilize the peaceful environment in Nyirol County.

Update: The second session of Court proceedings of Dr. Machar and His Co-accused has again been adjourned for tomorrow.

Here are some of the tips you should know on today’s session:

β€’ The Prosecutors’ team has submitted its application to defend their request that the court has legitimacy to try the First Vice President and seven others. The prosecutor team also failed to submit their application to support inclusion of private lawyers into their team.


β€’ The Defense lawyers admitted that the Nasir incident is indeed a case to be tried, but argued strongly that this court has no legitimacy to handle it.

β€’ The Three judge panel of the Special Court will now review both team submissions and determine whether they have the jurisdiction over the case or not base on the the application of both teams.

His lordship lastly reiterated since it’s a public hearing, all citizens interested to follow should be allowed and media houses should as well be allowed to broadcast the event.
