Appeal for the Removal of the Governor of Jonglei State
Your Excellency, President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
With deep respect and patriotism, I write to you as a concerned citizen of Jonglei State and a proud South Sudanese who believes in your continued efforts to uphold peace, unity, and good governance in our beloved nation.
Your Excellency, it is with great concern that I bring to your attention the deteriorating situation in Jonglei State under the current leadership of Governor Dr Riek G*i Kok.Instead of fostering unity, development, and equal service delivery to all communities, the Governor has allegedly been using state resources for personal benefit and promoting division among the people of Jonglei.
Reports and eyewitness accounts from within the State indicate the following issue
Misuse of Public Resources – State assets and funds intended for public welfare are being diverted for personal enrichment and political patronage.
Community Division Rather than promoting reconciliation and cooperation, the Governor is accused of favoring certain groups over others, leading to mistrust and increased tensions among communities.Poor Governance and Lack of Accountability – Development projects are stalled, administrative offices are weakened, and many citizens feel alienated from their government.
Your Excellency, such leadership contradicts the vision and objectives of your government, which strives to promote peace, unity, and equitable development for all citizens. Jonglei State has long suffered from instability and underdevelopment; it deserves a leader who will bring people together and use state resources for the benefit of all.
In light of these concerns, I respectfully appeal to Your Excellency to consider relieving the current Governor of Jonglei State from his duties and to appoint a competent, transparent, and unifying leader who can restore the people’s confidence in government and steer the State toward peace and prosperity.
