Breaking: Uganda Sends More Soldiers After Border Fight With South Sudan

Uganda has sent more soldiers and tanks to its border with South Sudan after a deadly fight in Kajo-Keji County. The clash happened on Monday when Ugandan forces accused South Sudanese troops of crossing into Uganda. But South Sudan said Uganda attacked first and killed five of their soldiers.

A local chief, Ernesto Tumiyo, said Ugandan soldiers used heavy guns and tanks. Many people ran away, and some women are still looking for their missing children. He said the attack happened in a place called Nyainga Muda, which he says belongs to South Sudan.

The commissioner of Kajo-Keji, Wani Jackson Mule, said many families have left their homes and are now staying in schools and churches. They have no food or medicine and need help quickly. Both countries have sent more soldiers to the area.

South Sudan’s army said both sides have now agreed to stop fighting and will investigate what happened. But local leaders and peace groups are warning both countries not to turn the area into a war zone. They are asking for peace talks and better protection for civilians.
