Death Announcement
After having informed relatives, in-laws, friends, and colleagues, the family would like to announce with profound sorrow and deep sadness the untimely passing of our beloved father, uncle, and grandfather, Capt Jacob Aganydit Garang Aleer Deng, a South Sudanese national from Wut Panaak, Lok, Nyarweng of Duk County, Jonglei State.
Late Capt Jacob Agany was a Wildlife Officer based in Bor and was also widely known as a respected businessman during the war time. He had been battling illness since 2025 while in Juba. The illness started with severe throat pain, which later affected his ability to speak. Although he could hear and understand people, he became unable to respond verbally.
Following several medical treatments in South Sudan, the family decided to refer him to Nairobi, Kenya, for further specialized treatment. Sadly, despite all efforts, he succumbed to the illness on 12th May 2026 at 4:00 AM.
He had been admitted to the ICU and placed on oxygen support for 16 days prior to his passing.
Arrangements for the transfer of his body to Juba will be communicated once all hospital bills and related procedures are finalized.
Mourners and relatives are gathering at the residence of the late Aganydit in Shirkat, behind Dream Care Clinic along Sudken Road.
During this difficult time, we seek God’s guidance, strength, and comfort for the entire family, relatives, friends, and loved ones.
