On March 12th, 2026, Brig. Gen. Hon. Arop Deng Kuol, Deputy Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, oversaw the delivery of numerous dump trucks transporting Marum from Warrap State.
Therefore, the Deputy Chief Administrator was accompanied by Mr. David Kiir Atem, Secretary General of the SPLM party for the area, Hon. Ajak Deng Miyen, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. Yohana Akol, Minister of Information, Culture, Youth, and Sport, and Youth, Hon. Nyang Doldol, the Commissioner of Alal County and the Directors General of Finance and Physical Infrastructure.
The initial dump trucks convoy were escorted by Mr. Deng Makuac, Director General of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Public Utilities in Warrap State, who is overseeing the initiation of this project involving the transportation of Marum from Warrap to Abyei area. Mr. Makuac will remain in the area for several days to facilitate coordination with relevant authorities.
It's worth mentioning that last week, a delegation led by SPLM Secretary Cde. David Kiir Atem and Hon.Martin Deng Kuol, Commissioner of the Land Commission, along with a technical team from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, was dispatched to Kuacjok the capital city of Warrap State to engage with the Warrap government leadership to provide the area administration with Marum for the rehabilitation of the road connecting Abyei town to Agok in Rumamer County.
As a result, the team successfully obtained the endorsement of the Warrap government to initiate this pivotal project.
Overall, the area administration, led by H.E. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, has prioritized the renovation of the road connecting Abyei town and Agok, recognizing its critical role in facilitating the movement of individuals and the transportation of goods between these two locations and their surrounding areas, thereby contributing positively to economic growth.
