Ruth Muka Ahou Abit Arok: A Tried, Tested, and Proven Leader for Nyiir Cit Arialbek
In the dynamic and evolving landscape of Twic East Girls’ leadership, moments arise when the choice of a leader is not merely about filling a position but about entrusting a vision, a legacy, and the collective aspirations of a community to the right person. Today, that choice is before the gallant women of Nyiir Cit Arialbek, and in my considered view, there is no one better suited for the role of Chairlady than Ruth Ahou Abit Arok, fondly known as Ruth Muka.
Ruth’s story is not that of overnight recognition—it is a story of resilience, merit, and consistent demonstration of competence. Born and raised in Kongor Wundit Payam of the mighty Twic East, Ruth embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and service. Her academic achievements speak for themselves: A Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from Bugema University, attained with discipline and determination. But what makes her truly stand out is her Humility to serve in leadership.
While at Bugema University, Ruth made history as the first South Sudanese woman to serve as Guild Prime Minister (Secretary General) of the Bugema University Students Association (BUSA). This was not an honorary title—it was a demanding role that required management, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking. Ruth’s tenure remains one of the most celebrated in BUSA’s history because she proved that leadership is about prudence, accountability, and being student-centered, not about occupying a position for prestige.
Her leadership was transformational—shifting from rhetoric to tangible results. She fought for respect for students’ interest, inclusivity in decision-making, and empowerment through participation. This brand of leadership is precisely what the Nyiir Cit Arialbek fraternity needs today: leadership that inspires, not merely instructs.
Beyond campus, Ruth’s track record is equally compelling. As a Nutrition Specialist, Gender and Child Protection Specialist in the Humanitarian Sector: she has worked at the intersection of social justice and community development, advocating for children, Girls’ and women’s emancipation, girl-child education, eradication of Malnutrition and the protection of vulnerable groups. This is not theory for her—it is lived practice. She has been in the trenches, addressing the real issues affecting women and children, and delivering results that make a difference.
Her eloquence and clarity of thought make her a formidable voice in public discourse. When Ruth speaks, she does so with authority, conviction, and empathy—a rare combination in leadership today. She is God-fearing, culturally grounded, and deeply committed to the welfare of her people.
As an aspirant for Nyiir Cit Arialbek Chairlady in Juba, Ruth is not just running for office; she is offering a tested vision for empowerment, unity, and prosperity. She is tried and proven, bringing both lived experience and forward-looking solutions to the table.
