President Kiir leading in provisional results for online polls election survey

President Salva Kiir is leading in provisional results of an online poll organized by Garang John, a South Sudanese journalist-turned-critic of the regime in Juba.

The ongoing polls expected to end on Friday show President Salva Kiir leading by 46%, Peter Biar Ajak by 20%, and Dr Riek Machar coming third with 18%.

The ongoing poll shows:
CANDIDATES % OBTAINED NUMBER OF VOTERS
Salva Kiir 46% 4271
Peter Biar 20%. 1846
Riek Machar 18% 1698
Malong Awan 5% 508
Lam Akol. 3% 285
Pagan Amum. 2% 220
Thomas Cirillo 1% 141
Suzanne Jambo 1% 97
Mayen Majongdit 1% 95

According to Garang John, the number of voters grows by the minute. Since the survey was launched yesterday, it has reached over 66,000 people, but only 9,100 have voted. He said by the end of Friday, the winner of this survey must receive 50% + 1%.

He added that If no one meets the winning percentage, the top four candidates from this survey will be selected for a second round of voting next week.
