On behalf of the leadership & the entire Membership Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association who cherish peace, unity, and cultural development through Wrestling, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to you for your exceptional leadership and vision in initiating the Inter-Payams Wrestling Competitions. Your idea is not only timely but deeply impactful. Wrestling, as a cherished tradition among our people, has always been a symbol of strength, pride, and unity. By organizing these competitions across Payams, you have created a platform that brings together youth, elders, and communities in a spirit of harmony and celebration. The leadership of Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association and Lakes state Wrestling and cultural Association today held a consultative meeting under the overall guidance and chairmanship of Hon. William Koji Kerijok, the minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and the acting Minister of Information and communication Lakes State. The meeting discussed the best way the two leaderships bodies can work together and unite our people through the power of wrestling as its has become the most powerful tool that we can use to bring all our communities and other wrestling communities together. The minister urge the two wrestling leaderships bodies to work together as to support and promote the peace brought to the people of Lakes state by H.E Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor the governor of Lakes state. Both leaders commend and appreciated the governor for the leadership and support he as been rendering to wrestling leaderships and thanks the people of Lakes state for accepting peace.

Independence best wishes from chairman of Greater Bahr EL Ghazal Wrestling Association

On this historic day, as we mark the 14th anniversary of our beloved nation’s independence, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit the president of the Republic of South Sudan and the people of South Sudan.
This day reminds us of the courage, resilience, and unity that brought us freedom. It is a time to reflect on our journey, honor our heroes, and renew our commitment to peace, development, and national pride.
As Chairman of the Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association, I take pride in how our traditional sport continues to unite communities, preserve our rich cultural heritage, and promote peace among our youth. Wrestling is more than a sport—it is a symbol of strength, identity, and unity.

Aweriar Wrestling and Cultural Association withdraw their position paper they wrote earlier withdrawing from Lakes State Wrestling and Cultural Association promised full commitment and cooperation with LSWCA. This is a follow up commitment to the two days meeting in Mingkaman with the delegation from Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association led by its deputy Chairperson Mayom Machiek Chienglou and the new chairperson of Lakes State Wrestling and cultural Association Malith Gak Akuocpir.

This morning 20th-05-2025, the leadership of Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association under the deputy Chairperson Mayom Machiek Chenglou concluded the event in Awerial County with the briefing to Commissioner Hon. Philip Mawut Garang of Awerial County. The meeting touched base on the reception of the new chairman of Lakes State Wrestling Association Malith Gak Akuocpir whom the people of Awerial County fullY embraced and agreed to cooperate with and his entire team.

GBWA thanks Hon. Mawut for the cordial reception and hospitality accorded to the team during our stayed in Guolyar. Also Commissioner Philip officially reopen Mingkaman wrestling Field again to resume their normal wrestling activities. The field was temporary closed by the county leadership due to some small Administrative issues.

The official documents from Awerial County Wrestling Association under Chairman Bub Mading Bub will be out in the due cost of the day.

The leadership of Greater Bahr El Ghazal Wrestling Association Led by Deputy Chairperson Mayom Machiek Chenglou has today officially introduced and handover the chairman of Lakes State Wrestling Association Malith Gak Akuocpiir aka Agut-Madok to the people of Lakes state and their counties represented by their counties chairperson. The event centered around the previous withdrawals of Awerial Wrestling Association from Lakes State Wrestling and Cultural Association. The people of Awerial were so receptive and happy of their new Chairman and they have all agreed to officially denounced and withdraw the withdrawals Letter they issue few months ago and promise to cooperate with chairman Malith and his team for the betterment of peace of the people of Lakes State. Aliab Community thanks the state government of Lakes State lead by Governor Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor for listening to their calls and issues raised in their documents and promise to be the number pillar of cooperation and peace of the people of Lakes under Chairman Malith.

GBWA thanks Awerial people for their cooperation and reception offered to the team lead by the deputy chairperson Mayom Machiek Chenglou and the new leadership of Lakes state wrestling Association. In attendance were 4 counties representatives Bub Mading Bub of Awerial County, Yirol East Samuel Majier Acuoth, Amor Meen Amor chairperson of Rumbek East Wrestling Association, Hon. Ring Majok Madol Advisor to the chairperson Bech Acijok of Yirol West Wrestling Association and also representing all the intellectual teams in his capacity as the chairperson of Jebel Kujur.

GBWA extends the heartfelt appreciation to all the parties involved and wish Lakes State Wrestling Association and chairman Malith the very best in the new chapter of their leadership and quest for peace and stability.

The official documents will be release in the morning after a live press conference.
