Dear Mïth Bor,
Ref: BCYA-BOR Politics – Bor Inclusive Youth for Action (BIYA)
Brother Marial Manyang Akuok and BIYA met with the people of Kolnyang Payam today from 1500–1700hrs, 31st January 2024 AD. I would describe that meeting as vile and ignoble to Kolnyang Payam and its people. Brother Marial indirectly insulted Kolnyang youth and misled them by claiming he would declare a “no-go zone” for a superior office if he wins, an office that is not even within his mandate.
Below are some of the agenda items he proclaimed he would execute if he assumes BCYA-BOR leadership:
1. Resolutions of Kolnyang Payam Issues, Particularly the Chuei-Këër Conflict: The Chuei-Këër issue has gone through all legally recognized government offices up to the Supreme Court, which is the highest level. What remains is the ex*****on of the findings, which only the state government can institute. Therefore, if an aspirant campaigns on that basis, he would be reopening an issue that no elder, including himself, can resolve. Raising it proves that his team does not understand the matter. Both BIYA and BRA cannot solve the Chuei-Këër conflict. The people should not be blindfolded.
2. Kolnyang Payam Lacks Proper Leadership Search Strategy and Guiding Principles: Kolnyang Payam has thousands of formally and informally educated youth. Using unfiltered, unbecoming language is outdated, and Brother Marial must publicly withdraw such remarks and never use them again in communal gatherings. Kolnyang is an organized community like any other and should not be abused through “political-malou,” or “political-nyarkuk” as Tearz Ayuen put it, just because of cheap BCYA-BOR politics. Insulting such a large crowd whose votes are essential to winning an election only proves a lack of proper leadership search strategies.
3. “Kolnyang Has Lost Leadership Keys and I Am Here to Be the Key”: Brother Marial is not from Kolnyang, nor is he aspiring to lead Kolnyang Payam Youth leadership. Allow me, ladies and gentlemen, to advise our brother Marial to first acquire Kolnyang Payam Youth membership, then he will be in a position to help Kolnyang find its lost leadership keys. I therefore advise Brother Manyang to suspend his campaign and return later when prepared, because he does not yet know what he wants.
4. Inclusivity: Ladies and gentlemen of Bor County, BIYA is using a big term that I believe they will abandon once they succeed in brainwashing you. Consider this: if your father was killed with a spear and you later seize that spear, as a loving son would you polish it and proudly showcase it as your favorite asset? Brother Ngong Alier Ngong was defeated by Dot Panchol Dot on allegations that he would revive the Gok Association since he was once chairman. Now Brother Marial is elevating the current Gok Youth Association Deputy Chair in Bor, Mr. Mangok Kuol Mach, who is also the Deputy Campaign Manager in Brother Marial’s camp (BIYA). Is this the “inclusivity” our brothers are preaching? Is this not one-sided victimization? Clearly, inclusivity is misplaced here.
5. Power Sharing: Brothers and sisters, this point has no foundation. All Payams of Bor County have at one time led this association. In a family, the head arranges for his sons and daughters to marry their first wives and first husbands in order of birth. Subsequent marriages are based on personal capability, commitment, and strength. In leadership, the same principle applies, not marriage order. Moreover, the BCYA-BOR Constitution is silent on power sharing. The team claims the leadership position should go to Athooc because they know Marial would only assume it through mercy, not capability. Ladies and gentlemen, we want to be represented by a competent person, not someone who doubts his own strength and prioritizes “Nyinda” — “Our/My chance” — as the main qualification for leadership.
N/B: Today’s BIYA-Kolnyang meeting was full of insults. Marial has started on the wrong note. He would do better to withdraw from this year’s contest. This is not propaganda. I have only explained BIYA’s manifesto to Kolnyang Payam. You can verify these statements from BIYA members who attended the meeting or from sons of Kolnyang who were present.
