After a thorough assessment of the public reaction to the press briefing yesterday by the Honorable Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs on the update of the Nasir incident, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs wishes to issue the following clarifications:

The purpose of the press briefing was to update the general public on the outcome of the investigation into the Nasir incident. The press briefing document is not admissible in court and was never intended for that purpose.

The document was designed to provide a synopsis and highlight the major themes of the investigation, rather than to present all the details.

The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs has taken note of the views of the public on the citation of sections of the law during the briefing. The Ministry assures the public that the correct provisions of the law have been properly cited in the official case diary and are already before the court.

There should therefore be no misunderstanding or confusion regarding the goal of the press briefing, which was simply to keep the public informed.

The Ministry calls upon all citizens to remain vigilant and constructive in following this case as part of their civic duty, and to remain positive as the matter progresses.

*Two arrested for stabbing man over watermelon in Aweil*

Police in Nyalath Payam, Aweil Center County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State have arrested two young men accused of stabbing a 28-year-old over watermelon theft.

The survivor, identified as Mabior, was caught stealing from a garden on Monday when guards stabbed him in the shoulder and back.

Police inspector David Deng said the suspects, 22-year-old Malual Guot and 25-year-old Guot, are in custody for investigation.

“They suspects were brought to Maper Police station for further investigation because here we have no concrete cell, so this is what happen in Nyalath,” Deng said.

The survivor was rushed to Aweil State Hospital for treatment. Police said the suspects will face trial after investigations and urged residents not to take the law into their own hands, but to report cases to the authorities.

Meanwhile, police are investigating another case after a body with stab wounds was found last Sunday in the Maper Akot Aru area.

First Aspiring Candidate for Warrap State Youth Union Chairmanship position 2025-2026

Thuch Angelo Mel, a 33-year-old man.
He is a hard working and committed gentleman.

Thuch Angelo Mel holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance from Cavendish University, also holds a diploma in Accounting and Finance from University of Juba and currently admitted for Post Graduate Diploma at the University of Bahr El Ghazal-Wau, finally dropped his full set of applications to the table of I.E.C today evening.

Thuch Angelo is a Humanitarian worker with more than 10years of experiences in this field and currently working as HR/Finance Officer for International organization in South Sudan today.

He is a man of integrity, handwork, accountability and Youth activitist that could change the face of the Union in Warrap State which experienced lack of mentioned above for years. "Vote for him, secure your rights".

Israeli air strikes hit the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday, targeting senior Hamas officials who had gathered to discuss the latest US ceasefire proposal for Gaza.

Multiple explosions were heard in the city, with smoke seen rising over the Katara district.

The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out the strikes, saying it targeted Hamas’s senior leadership.

A senior Hamas source told Al Jazeera that the Palestinian movement's negotiating delegation was targeted in the attack.
