‎Plant More Trees to Protect Our Environment and Address Climate Change.

‎In line with environmental protection efforts in South Sudan, one proud son of Warrap State, Kuac South, has taken a bold initiative to plant 3,000 trees this year in an effort to reduce the effects of climate change and protect the environment.

‎Among the trees planted are 1,350 mango trees, with seedlings prepared and started in early April 2026.

‎The government’s call to promote tree planting has been positively implemented by Garang Atomdit in Kualkou.
‎His commitment demonstrates to all of us the importance of planting more trees to help reduce climate change and protect our natural environment.

‎As international agencies and the government continue to announce tree plantation programs, we appeal to partners and relevant ministries to support this important initiative.

‎The Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environment, and other stakeholders can join hands in supporting this tree-planting program for a greener and healthier future.

‎We also extend our request to well-wishers and community members to contribute their support toward the success of tree plantation programs across South Sudan.

Protocol Officer Lt. Col. Aloro Machol Alor Steps In to Assist the President During Uganda Visit

By Daniel Wol Kon Deng

The Protocol Officer, Lt. Colonel Aloro Machol Alor, reportedly stepped in to assist with the close protection and coordination of the President after the Presidential Aide, Mr. Machar, allegedly failed to effectively carry out his duties during the President’s official visit to Uganda.

Upon the President’s arrival at Kololo, where he attended the inauguration ceremony of H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Ugandan protocol officials were seen managing access and movement around the President. During the process, Lt. Col. Aloro Machol reportedly made efforts to move closer and assist with presidential coordination and security after the Presidential Aide in army uniform was unable to maintain close proximity to the Head of State.

In the process of supporting the President’s movement and security arrangements, Lt. Col. Machol’s suit was torn as protocol officials pushed away crowds and officials along the President’s path. Despite the situation, he continued assisting and remained close to the President throughout the engagement.

Observers have also recalled a similar incident during the President’s recent visit to Addis Ababa, where Lt. Col. Machol was again seen taking an active role near the President while the Presidential Aide remained absent from public view.

Many citizens have since raised concerns and questions regarding why the Presidential Aide appears more visible around the President while in Juba, but less active during foreign visits.

Supporters of Lt. Col. Machol argue that he should not be blamed for stepping in to assist where necessary and ensuring the President’s coordination and protection during official engagements abroad.
