🔴 NBGS Cracks Down on Unlicensed Meat Sales Amid Dog Meat Reports

The Ministry of Animal Resources in Northern Bahr el Ghazal has banned the sale of meat in unlicensed butcheries following reports of dog meat being sold in Aweil Town.

Director General Samuel Ajing Uguak stated that some residents even slaughter sick animals illegally. He warned that violators will face heavy fines.

The directive comes after discussions about alternative protein sources, including suggestions by Presidential Advisor Kuol Manyang Juuk that South Sudanese could consume dogs, frogs, lizards, and cats.

The move aims to protect public health and curb illegal slaughter practices.
