Dr. Joseph Nguen Manytuil, the Governor of Unity State, has issued a directive to the Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC) to prioritize the construction of hospitals, schools, and clean water facilities in oil-producing communities. This announcement came during his recent visit to Tharwangyiela, an area heavily impacted by oil production, where he witnessed the inadequate living conditions that have left many residents vulnerable, particularly in the wake of cholera outbreaks.

During his visit, Dr. Manytuil emphasized the urgent need for improved infrastructure, stating, "The communities that contribute to our oil production must not be neglected. The very resources that should uplift them are, in fact, harming their health and well-being." He called for immediate action to transform the current makeshift health facility into a larger, more capable center to better serve those affected by cholera.

In addition to healthcare improvements, Dr. Manytuil assured residents that plans for schools and other essential services would follow closely behind. "We must ensure that these communities receive the basic services they deserve," he affirmed, highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those living in oil-producing regions. The governor's proactive approach aims to create a sustainable and healthier environment for the residents of Tharwangyiela and beyond.

FANGAK NEWS AGENCY | SATURDAY 06-JUNE-2026.

The Fangak Youth Union (FYU) has directed all members in Juba who have not completed their membership registration or paid monthly subscriptions to do so immediately.

According to a directive issued by FYU Chairperson Mawich Duoth Gatluak, members in Juba should make payments through designated project coordinators at Five Stars Technologies, Jebel Suk, while members in POC 1 and POC 3 should pay through assigned FYU officials.

The union said the exercise aims to strengthen membership management, improve communication, and support FYU programs and activities. Members are encouraged to comply and continue supporting the organization through active participation and regular subscriptions.

Fangak Students Association in Universities and Higher Institutes held a General Meeting today, during which the leadership led by Dak Both Deng was officially dissolved. An Electoral Committee was subsequently formed to oversee the upcoming student elections.
