CANDIDACY FOR MAYOR OF BOR TOWN - DECEMBER 2025 ELECTION

Fellow citizens of Bor Town, esteemed elders, youth, women, and members of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM),

With profound humility, a deep sense of civic duty, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people, I, Garang Mach Deng, hereby officially declare my interest and candidacy for the position of Mayor of Bor Town in the forthcoming December election, contesting under the SPLM Ticket.

This decision is born out of extensive consultations with community members, youth groups, women leaders, elders, and party comrades who share a common aspiration: to see Bor Town transformed into a clean, secure, well-governed, and economically vibrant municipality that serves all its residents.

Bor Town is at a critical juncture. As the capital of Jonglei State and a historic symbol of our liberation struggle, our town deserves leadership that is accountable, inclusive, and development-oriented.

Dr. Akol Aguek Ngong, Ph.D., and his wife, Man Deng Aköl Thiei Machar Dengdit, MAcc have officially acquired Thon-Maakuur from Nyabongu Kënyï from Palek of Gemeiza.

With this remarkable achievement, the name and title have now been rightfully bestowed upon him. From this day forward, you may proudly and officially call him:

without fear of contradiction. 👏
This is more than the acquisition of a magnificent Thon-Maakuur; it is a significant cultural achievement, a symbol of heritage, pride, identity, and continuity.
