Congratulations 🎉 🎆🎉to South Sudanese students at KNUST.
The South Sudanese students’ team from the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, won the ISA AFCON (International Students’ Association African Cup of Nations) tournament for the 2023/2024 season.
They defeated the students’ team from Côte d'Ivoire(Ivory Coast) 🇨🇮 in the final on 16th June 2024 with 4:1 convincing victory.
Unity, commitment, and collaboration within the team were critical components in their success.
This solidarity was created by the team's leadership, particularly captain Kinako Denis Dazanga, who kept the players focused and devoted to achieving a common goal.
He was also outstanding on the pitch, emerging as the best midfielder and most valuable player of the tournament.
In addition,the team's goalkeeper, Deng Matiop, won the best goalkeeper of the tournament after his brilliant performance throughout.
This triumph is very important for the South Sudanese students’ community at KNUST and Ghana. It has showcased the talent and potential of South Sudanese youth in West Africa and has brought huge pride to the nation.
The victory is sure to be undoubtedly celebrated by the South Sudanese in the diaspora and the citizens in the country inspired by the win. The victory was not about football ⚽; it was a symbol of resilience, talent, and potential of South Sudanese youth.
