Bebe Cool has praised Joshua Baraka for helping him connect with a younger, Gen Z audience through their recent collaboration, “Cheque.”

Currently on his East African tour promoting the Break The Chains album, Bebe Cool opened up about the mutually beneficial partnership during a media engagement.

He described the collaboration as a “win-win” that not only expanded his reach among Gen Z listeners but also helped Baraka gain more recognition among older music lovers.

I want to sell Joshua Baraka because the Ugandan audience had refused to understand him, because of people like me and Chameleone. So if I go and embrace him, then the people will accept him.

Bebe Cool noted that while he helped introduce Baraka to millennial and older fans, Baraka in turn opened the doors for him to gain traction with the Gen Z crowd.

Their joint effort, Cheque, has become one of the most streamed songs in the country, marking a high point in both artists’ careers.

As we celebrate 14 years of independence on July 9th, 2025, it's time for young South Sudanese to reflect on their contributions to the nation. Instead of criticizing those in power, let's focus on making a positive impact. Many of our youth are congregating in Juba, struggling to find opportunities, which can sometimes lead to negative outcomes. We encourage you to consider returning to your rural homes and exploring agriculture as a viable option. Our country is vast and rich in resources, and there's potential for growth and development beyond the capital. By working together and utilizing our land's potential, we can build a brighter future for South Sudan.
