None of the individuals nominated by Stephen Par to positions within the SPLM-IO attended the trial of Dr. Riek Machar and other accused. In contrast, figures such as the Minister of Interior, Hon. Angelina Teny, former Minister of Health Hon. Yolanda Awel, and the former Speaker of the Council of State have been present since the first day of the trial. Despite this, Par continues to claim he never betrayed Dr. Riek.

The prosecution has raised an objection regarding two defense lawyers in Dr. Riek Machar's case, claiming that Deng John Deng and Warnyang Kiir Warnyang are operating without valid licenses.

They argue that the expired licenses render the lawyers' participation in the trial illegal, potentially compromising the integrity of the defense team.

The prosecution contends that allowing these attorneys to continue would undermine the legitimacy of the proceedings. οΏΌ

As a result, the court is currently deliberating on whether to permit Deng and Warnyang to remain part of Machar's legal representation. The outcome of this ruling could significantly impact the defense strategy in the ongoing trial.
