Upland Media's Relocation to Gulu City.A Shift in Acholi's Media Landscape
In a surprising turn of events, Upland Media, a well-known media company, has announced its decision to shift its main office and Studio to Gulu City, a significant change that has stirred emotions and discussions across the Acholi Districts. The confirmation came directly from the company's CEO, Mr. Kasule Denis, in an exclusive interview with one of our reporters.
Gulu City, strategically located at the heart of Acholi Districts, was chosen as the new home for Upland Media. The company's primary objective is to expand its reach and focus on covering all eight districts of Acholi, which include Gulu, Kitgum, Lamwo, Pader, Agago, Nwoya, Amuru, and Omoro This shift represents a significant commitment to better serve the entire Acholi region.
However, not everyone is celebrating this move. Our reporter had the opportunity to interview local councillors who expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision. They lamented the fact that Upland TV had been providing their services for free in Kitgum, making them easily accessible to the community. This accessibility was highly appreciated, but now they fear it will be missed.
Despite the concerns voiced by the councillors, there seems to be a sense of understanding and goodwill towards Upland Media. It is clear that the media company has left an indelible mark on Kitgum Municipality and District. While they may be physically relocating, Mr. Kasule Denis assured that they would return to Kitgum occasionally, reminding the community that they are not forgotten.
As Upland Media embarks on this new journey in Gulu City, it is clear that their services have made a significant impact on those they have touched. The relocation may mark the end of an era in Kitgum, but it signifies the beginning of a broader horizon for Upland Media as they strive to bring Acholi's diverse voices and stories to the forefront, enriching the media landscape across the region. The hopes and well-wishes of the Acholi community accompany them on this new path, as they continue to seek greener pastures while leaving a memorable legacy behind in Kitgum.
