Leer Farmer Urges Early Cultivation to Avoid Flood DamageIn Leer, farmer Yak G*i Lel has urged local farmers to start their cultivation early to protect their crops from flood damage. According to Lel, planting crops in May allows them to mature by July, just before the floodwaters intensify. This strategy has helped Lel preserve his harvests year after year despite the challenging flood conditions.Lel shared his approach in a recent interview, emphasizing the importance of timely planting to ensure a successful yield. Hackathon training in Leer has concluded with formation of farmers information team volunteers. The Six members selected were selected to coordinate with vegetables farmers outside Leer and Mayiandit to ensure their products are markets in media, address challenge facing farmers include seeking new seeds to be plants during flooding.

The volunteers will coordinates with farmers information team to support their activities.

The training is being sponsored by USAID through and and implemented by Hackathon winners in Leer to mitigate effect on flooding on agriculture using media platforms to share information.
